PQAC Members and Aircraft Recruited to Fight "Invasion of the Aliens!"

Broombusters Invasive Plant Society recently thanked the PQAC for its help in the Society's fight against the Scotch Broom, a highly invasive woody weed that has many detrimental economic, safety, health and environmental consequences.

"Many thanks again to Paul Conner and Doug Monteith who took me up into the air last June, to take aerial photos of the spread invasive plant Scotch broom - while the bright yellow blossoms were easy to see. Yes, photos say more than a thousand words. These photos have had a powerful and good influence as we draw the towns, ministries and companies together to talk about this serious environmental problem. Thank you Paul, Doug and all of the Parksville Qualicum Aero Club! We hope you will take us into air this spring!" - Joanne Sales, Director of Broombusters Invasive Plant Society
